If your content strategy is “open the app, panic, post whatever,” this one’s for you.
Content batching means you set aside one focused day to plan, film, edit, and schedule a full month of posts. Instead of thinking about social media every single day, you think about it hard once, then get on with your life. It’s exactly how I build monthly content plans for my clients.
Step 1: Pick your content pillars
Pillars are the 3 to 5 topics your account is known for. For a med spa, that might be treatment education, results, behind the scenes, and the team. Every post you plan should fit under one of them. No pillar, no post.
Step 2: Map out the month
Decide how many times a week you’ll realistically post. Three is plenty for most businesses. Then fill your calendar, rotating through your pillars so your feed doesn’t become all promo or all education. Add any dates that matter to your business, like holidays, launches, or promotions.
Step 3: Script before you film
Write a hook, two or three talking points, and a call to action for every video. You don’t need word-for-word scripts, but you do need to know what you’re saying before the camera’s rolling. This step alone cuts filming time in half.
Step 4: Film in blocks
Block 2 to 3 hours. Phone on Do Not Disturb, good lighting, and go through your scripts back to back. Bring two or three tops and change between videos so your content doesn’t look like it was all filmed on the same Tuesday (even though it was).
Step 5: Edit in one sitting
Edit everything at once, while you’re in the zone. Add captions on screen, since a lot of people watch with the sound off. Use the words your audience would search in your captions and on-screen text so the right people can find you.
Step 6: Schedule it and walk away
Meta Business Suite schedules for Instagram and Facebook for free. Tools like Later and Planoly work too, and TikTok lets you schedule from its desktop site. Once everything’s loaded, your only daily job is engaging: replying to comments, answering DMs, and showing up in your stories.
