Posting Every Week and Nothing’s Working? Your Content Needs a Job.

You're posting every week. You're showing up. And it still feels like nothing is working.

It's usually not because you need to post more. It's because your content doesn't have a clear job.

The 6 jobs a post can do

Before you make anything, decide what it's supposed to do. Every post should do at least one of these:

  1. Teach something. A tip, a how-to, a myth busted.

  2. Build trust. Show your process, your values, or who's behind the business.

  3. Show proof. Results, reviews, before-and-afters.

  4. Create connection. A relatable moment your audience recognizes from their own life.

  5. Move people to action. Book, buy, DM, sign up.

  6. Entertain. Make them laugh or keep them watching.

When a post doesn't have a job, it ends up being "cute" and nothing else. Cute gets a like. A job gets a result.

Mix the jobs across your week

If every post is "buy now," people tune out. If every post is a tip, people learn from you but never hire you. You need a mix.

A simple week might look like this: one post that teaches, one that shows proof, and one that moves people to action. Rotate the others in as you go.

3 easy post types to start with

If you're not sure where to begin, these three are the easiest to make in any industry:

1. The tip post. One problem, one fix. Format: a 20–30 second Reel or a 2-slide graphic. Formula: hook, tip, example.

2. The behind-the-scenes post. Show what you're doing while you teach something. Format: 6 to 10 short clips with text on screen. Formula: process, then end result.

3. The proof post. A simple before-and-after or a results story. Format: screenshots, numbers, or a quick story. Formula: the problem, what you did, what changed.

Ask this before you post

"What is this post supposed to do?"

If you can't answer in one sentence, it's not ready yet. Fix the job first, then make the post.

Real talk

Posting with strategy doesn't just help you stay consistent. It helps you make content that connects, converts, and builds a real community around your business. And it makes posting feel a whole lot less exhausting.
